Network Event Viewer?
Network Event Viewer 2007 is a network wide event log monitoring, consolidation and management tool enabling Systems Administrators to monitor, consolidate, manage, filter, search, analyze, report and export Windows Event logs. Manually download event logs (and optionally clear event logs) or schedule the service to download the logs. Schedule ranges from every minute to monthly. Create filters, email detailed and PDA friendly alerts, write events to SQL Server, forward events to your syslogger, and export to CSV, HTML, XML, and TEXT.
Event logs are constantly and automatically generated by users and automated services. By default, event logs are stored on each computer's system folder. Network Event Viewer stores all captured event logs to either the local file system or to a SQL Server database called the event log repository.
Network Event Viewer's powerful filtering searches through the consolidated event logs and allows you to browse the required events without deleting any records from your log repository. Users may also selectively highlight, flag, and add notes to specific events.
New to version 2007 is the ability to create both simple and very complex filters that support regular expressions.
In previous builds the filters combo box was enabled when viewing a frequency detection report even through changing the filter did nothing. The combo box is now disabled when viewing a frequency detection report.
In previous builds when converting a simple filter to a complex filter the description was now included in the conversion.
